All Riddle Village apartments are equipped with emergency pull cords that are monitored 24/7 by our nursing team.  We also have a state-of-the-art computerized daily check in system to ensure your safety and privacy.

Who decides if I need more care and what type of care I need?2019-03-18T15:54:28-04:00

You are always involved in your healthcare decisions as long as you’re able.  If the need arises where you need more care, all options will be discussed with you, the Riddle Village medical team, your personal physician and your family.

Yes!  Guests are always welcome into Riddle Village.  If you plan on having an overnight guest in your apartment we can provide you with a roll away bed, or your guests can spend the night in one of our beautifully appointed and spacious guest suites.

Can I “test drive” the Riddle Village lifestyle?2022-02-16T13:07:23-05:00

We understand making a move to a retirement community is a big decision not to be taken lightly. For some, it is helpful to experience the lifestyle before making a final choice on where they want to call home. Please talk to your marketing representative about spending a night or two in one of our guest rooms, joining residents for dinner, attending the evening entertainment and exploring our community to get a feel of the friendly lifestyle that Riddle Village offers. *Due to Covid 19, our Test Drive program may be temporarily unavailable. Are there any major capital projects planned for Riddle Village?2022-02-16T13:06:04-05:00

Riddle Village has a long history of budgeting and planning major capital projects to ensure the community continues to remain attractive, functional and desirable for current and future residents. Some of our most recent capital projects included the expansion of the Thoroughbred Lounge and redesign of the putting green. Some future budgeted projects to be completed in 2022 include a redesign and complete renovation of the Hampton House residential building. We will also be renovating the second floor of the Monticello building where Personal Care is located. This project will include a new dining room, activities and programs room and redesign of the common area. We invite you to come to visit us and see all the exciting changes!

Who is on the executive team overseeing Riddle Village and may I speak with them?2022-02-16T13:05:24-05:00

Kim Roguszewski, President/CEO and Ron Waterman, Executive Vice President/COO make up our executive team and are located on-site during business hours at least 5 days per week. They are always happy to connect with and answer any questions residents, prospective residents and families may have. Every month they hold a Town Hall meeting. All residents are encouraged to attend. This meeting gives the executive team an opportunity to update residents on various subjects, such as upcoming projects, procedures, and topics of importance. During this meeting, residents are encouraged to ask questions. In addition to our executive team, administrators and directors are also available to residents, prospective residents and families. What is the Lifecare contract?2022-02-16T13:08:28-05:00

Riddle Village is a continuing care retirement community offering a Lifecare contract, also referred to as a Type A contract. Lifecare provides living accommodations, community residential services and amenities, plus unlimited long-term Personal Care and Skilled Nursing Care without an increase to the monthly service fee (except for normal increases related to the operating cost inflation adjustments and ancillary items in a health care setting).

Riddle Village has a transportation team and assortment of vehicles to meet your transportation needs.  They provide transport to and from doctor appointments, grocery stores, mall shopping, planned trips, as well as, to and from the train station or airport.  Costs depend on the distance traveled.   Regularly scheduled trips to the grocery stores, shopping malls and rides back and forth to Riddle Hospital are always free!

What happens if I outlive my assets?2022-02-16T13:07:52-05:00

Part of the admission process at Riddle Village includes a financial review to help ensure that you have the necessary funds to live in a Lifecare community such as ours. Once that review process is concluded and you have been financially accepted, Riddle Village takes on the responsibility of providing you with the lifestyle and care that you expect regardless of whether you outlive your assets provided this was through no fault of your own. Funded by donations, Riddle Village developed an Endowment Fund to assist those residents that may find themselves faced with financial hardship.

YES!  Your pet is welcome to move to Riddle Village with you.

What happens to my Entrance Fee at Riddle Village?2022-02-16T13:08:52-05:00

Riddle Village offers three different Entrance Fee Plans.
Plan A (our most popular plan) is a declining balance plan that depreciates 4% at occupancy, then 2% per month for 48 months.
Plan B is a 50% refundable plan. The non-refundable portion depreciates 4% at occupancy, then 2% per month for 23 months.
Plan C is a 90% refundable plan. The non-refundable portion depreciates 4% at occupancy, then 2% per month for 3 months.

What services do you offer to those who are not Riddle Village Life Care Residents?2022-02-16T13:09:39-05:00

Riddle Village Lifecare residents have priority access to our Personal Care apartments and Skilled Nursing/Rehabilitation accommodations. However, we often have availability and welcome non-residents to experience our high-quality Personal Care and Skilled Nursing services for both short-term and long-term and respite care. What kind of dining plan does Riddle Village offer?2019-03-18T15:41:08-04:00

Riddle Village offers a Flex Dollar Dining Plan.  All residents receive a set amount of money to be used for meals each month.  The Flex Dollar amount given is based on having dinner in our most expensive dining venue multiplied by the days in the month.  The Flex Dollars can be used in any dining venue for any meal, including the Garden Terrace, Chesapeake Room, Governour’s Inne and Thoroughbred Lounge.  All meals (breakfast, lunch and dinner), appetizers, “upgrade on meals” and beverages (including beverages containing alcohol) can be “purchased” with your Flex Dollars.  You can use your Flex Dollars to purchase meals, appetizers and drinks for your guests visiting from outside of the facility.  Flex Dollars can not be rolled over to the next month, they must be used in the month that they were issued.  Please ask a marketing representative for the full details on this fantastic meal plan!

Riddle Village opened its doors for our first residents on October 15, 1993.

Is any part of my Entrance Fee and monthly fee tax deductible?2019-03-18T15:40:29-04:00

Yes, a portion of your non-refundable entrance fee is deductible in the first year of your residency at our community.  In addition, each year a portion of your monthly fee is tax deductible on your federal tax return as pre-paid medical expenses.  A marketing representative will review these deductions with you when you visit Riddle Village.

Can I afford to live at Riddle Village?2019-03-18T15:40:01-04:00

This is a common question for many when visiting our community.  Most are surprised by how affordable the Life Care option truly is.  The funds used to secure one’s future here at the Village may be the best money ever spent.  Riddle Village is proud to be one of the most affordable retirement communities in the area despite having the largest apartments, indoor parking, superior amenities and exceptional healthcare services.  A marketing representative is always available to review your finances in a confidential and relaxed manner.

What is Riddle Village’s relationship with Riddle Hospital?2019-03-18T15:39:45-04:00

Riddle Village and Riddle Hospital are separate entities, however there is a ground lease arrangement between Riddle Village and Riddle Healthcare Foundation, as they own the land that Riddle Village sits on.  The relationship between the organizations has always been a positive one and we believe it is very beneficial to our residents to have Riddle Hospital, now part of the Main Line Health System, right next door.
