This past April, new members were inducted into the Riddle Village Resident Council. Each member of the Resident Council has lived at Riddle Village for several years, but we wanted to take the time to introduce them as they step into their new roles. Continue reading to learn more about these residents and what they are looking forward to while serving on the council.

how to prepare for a retirement community

Bob Kenworthy, President

Bob and Judy Kenworthy moved to Riddle Village in September 2018. Bob was trained as a chemist and worked for DuPont, mostly in business management rather than as a chemist, for 30 years before his first retirement. He then worked in hazardous waste treatment and disposal for 5 years with Rollins Environmental Services before establishing his own business, The Crumwald Associates, Inc. in 1997. He fully retired in July of 2018.

“I wanted to get involved with the Resident Council because I believe that each of us should contribute what we can to the quality of life here at RV,” Bob said. “My skills lie in organization, management, and communications so the Riddle Village Residents Council was the logical place for me to make that contribution.”

Bob previously served as secretary, and in his new position, he is looking forward to being involved in and contributing to all the elements of life at Riddle Village. When asked what his favorite thing about Riddle Village is, Bob spoke highly of the atmosphere throughout the community.

“My favorite thing about Riddle Village is the friendliness of the other residents and the way in which we all contribute to the friendly and welcoming environment we all enjoy here.”

Millie Seeds, Vice President

Millie seeds has lived at Riddle Village for almost 6 years. She worked as a teacher before moving into our community. She is very involved in several areas of the community, including bocce ball and the Non-Traveling Theatre Troupe. Millie is familiar with the Resident Council as she already serves as the chair of the Wellness Committee. We are looking forward to all that Millie will bring to her new role!

Mark Bazrod, Secretary

Mark Bazrod has lived at Riddle Village with his wife for 8 and a half years. He was the founder and CEO of a leasing company, Lease Programs Inc., which was a leader in leasing computers and software in the US, Canada and Europe. Mark wanted to get involved with Resident Council because the prior officers were very helpful in addressing and solving resident concerns, and he wanted to get involved to continue their work. In his new position on the council, Mark is looking forward to working with the other officers and management to improve living at Riddle Village. His favorite thing about Riddle Village is the employees.

“Every staff person is most accommodating and a pleasure to deal with,” Mark said.

Jan Migeot, Treasurer

Jan Migeot moved into Riddle Village about 5 and a half years ago. She is a CPA specializing in tax work, and still maintains a tax business primarily for individuals. Her clients are primarily from outside of Riddle Village but more frequently residents ask her to take on their tax work. Jan has worked on the Resident Council previously on the Finance Committee and was happy to continue in a new position because it gives her the opportunity to meet more residents and interacting with Riddle Management gives her more insight into the workings of Riddle Village. She is looking forward to helping residents better understand the finances of their Resident Council and the various funds that are maintained at Riddle Village like the Endowment Fund, Employee Appreciation Fund, Employee Education Fund, and the Capital Appreciation Fund. She also hopes to help residents understand the Emporium and where profits from it go. Jan certainly keeps busy at Riddle Village, so it’s no surprise to learn that her favorite thing about our community is all that there is to do here.

“My favorite thing about Riddle Village is that despite being widowed many years I no longer feel lonely,” Jan said. “There are so many activities at Riddle Village. I help run our Water Aerobic classes 6 days a week and lead our Book Club discussions, but in addition there are so many trips that Riddle Village’s Activity Director arranges, musical entertainment usually twice a week, game nights, movie nights and many other events.”
