Located just outside of Philadelphia and near plenty of entertainment in the surrounding suburbs, Riddle Village is the perfect spot to conveniently get to plenty of fun activities. Not only are these options a short drive for our residents, but the transportation department at Riddle Village is always on hand to take residents to and from various locations. While there is plenty to do right in our community, it is always nice to get out and enjoy all that there is to do close to home.

Experience Nature at Local Parks

Riddle Village’s location is the perfect spot for taking in the beauty of nature. Nearby there is an abundance of parks and hiking trails, such as Ridley Creek State Park and Brandywine Creek State Park. Just down the road from our community is Tyler Arboretum, a botanical garden offering beautiful sites as well as education about horticulture and the preservation of nature. You can also use your phone or computer to look up nearby trails and see what sounds like a good fit based on scenery, length, elevation, and more.

Drive-In Movie Theater

Going to the movies has not been on many people’s minds this year, but it’s still an option when you are lucky enough to live near drive-in movie theaters! There are over 10 options for drive-ins just outside of Philadelphia. Some of these locations have delicious food menus, but you may also opt to pack up your own favorite snacks and beverages. It is common to find new movies and blockbusters offered, but you can also switch it up with a classic movie to relive your favorite flicks.

Philadelphia Zoo

Now that the weather is warming up, it is a great time of year to visit with furry and exotic animals at the Philadelphia Zoo. Not only are there plenty of animals to visit and learn about, but America’s first zoo has plenty of cool experiences that set it apart from others around the world. For instance, thanks to Zoo360 you can see animals such as lions and monkeys roaming around in see-through tunnels throughout the zoo. Whether you want to sit back in the beer garden or meet and feed an animal up close, a trip to the zoo is sure to be the exciting day you are looking for!

Longwood Gardens

Longwood Gardens is an amazing place to casually stroll and appreciate all things nature. Pick any route and you are sure to be blown away. One of the most appealing parts of visiting Longwood Gardens is that no matter when you plan your trip, there is always something to experience. Holiday lights, the festival of fountains, and the bright colors of autumn and spring mean that every day at Longwood Gardens is the perfect day for a visit. You can also visit the conservatory to see more beautiful displays and enjoy relaxing water scenery.

Linvilla Orchards

Fresh produce, farm animals, and entertaining games and hayrides for the whole family make Linvilla Orchards one of the best attractions in Delaware County all year round! You can shop around and buy plants, food, and seasonal decorations and enjoy feeding animals such as deer, goats, and sheep. As the weather warms up, you can even pick your own produce. Depending on the season, fresh strawberries, apples, and peaches are available for picking. Around the holidays, you can even find the perfect pumpkin or Christmas tree. Wineries

Who doesn’t love a nice glass of wine right at the spot where it’s made? Wineries are great for those who enjoy learning about wine and how best to enjoy it. In the area, there are several wineries, such as Chaddsford Winery and Paradocx Vineyard. Chaddsford has events year-round, such as food truck festivals and wine and chocolate specials. Not only does Paradoxc have a delicious wine and food menu, but you can also enjoy walking the picturesque vineyard to really immerse yourself in the experience!
