On Wednesday, June 21st, Riddle Village kicked off the summer with our 2nd Annual Courtyard Celebration. During this popular event, prospective residents who have expressed interest in our community were invited to enjoy our newly renovated outdoor amenities during an afternoon of food, drinks, and live music from the Joe Smith Band.

With options like light finger foods, a grilling station, and a jumbo shrimp cocktail table, everyone could find something to enjoy. Luckily, there is always room for dessert at Riddle Village. Our chefs prepared everything from fruit tarts to cream puffs, with the main attraction being a Ferris wheel made out of cupcakes. To top it all off, our bartender was on hand making margaritas served in pineapples. Beer, wine, juice, and water were also available.

Something that made the Courtyard Event even more special was that those looking to make the move into a retirement community had the opportunity to speak with current Riddle Village residents. Members of our Welcome Wagon group were invited to mingle with our guests to speak candidly about life at Riddle Village. This was a great way for prospective clients to hear more about our community from someone who has once been in their shoes.

“I definitely think there is a benefit to having current residents to speak with during these events,” Marcy Kloss, a member of the Welcome Wagon group said. “We are able to offer them a more detailed point of view about day-to-day life in the community. Those are the things people want to know about.”

This relaxed environment proved to be a great setting for conversation, as guests were able to ask questions and get to know some of their potential future neighbors. It also gave them the opportunity to speak to staff they might not have met before, like our head chef, directors of various departments and the entire marketing team.riddle village outside courtyard

The event concluded with raffle prizes, sending a few lucky attendees home with a beautiful flower arrangement from Marcus Hook Florist. Guests were invited to take a tour around Riddle Village. Sales representatives from our Marketing Department showed prospective clients our commons building, including the game room, Towne Hall, and restaurants.

The first Courtyard Event took place last year and was a favorite for everyone involved. This year we were thrilled to welcome even more people. The beautiful weather and recently renovated courtyard patio made for a fun and relaxing afternoon. We look forward to seeing new faces next year and inviting even more people in to experience the best that Riddle Village has to offer!
