Samuel D. Riddle was a successful horse breeder who won the Triple Crown in 1937. He was a wealthy man at the time of his passing and left his entire estate for the purpose of founding a hospital located on Baltimore Pike. Riddle Village was founded on land left after the completion of the hospital, and its primary purpose is to help seniors live in a welcoming, comforting community with dignity and autonomy.
